Renata King is a business and economic development specialist with over 25 years of experience. She has been the Project Consultant for ETSI-BC serving the Thompson-Okanagan region since 2020. Prior to joining ETSI-BC, she spent 8 years in Prince George as the Director of Business Development for Northern Development (NDIT), the counterpart of ETSI-BC in Northern BC.
Prior to that, Renata was the VP Consulting for the Western Region with Business Development Bank of Canada (BDC), where for more than 10 years, she delivered consulting support to hundreds of businesses across BC and Western Canada. Before that, Renata led the economic development function for the North Okanagan region.
Renata has volunteered many hours as a mentor for the Forum, Futurpreneur and Minerva. She has served on numerous boards including Downtown Prince George, Innovation Central Society, and Women’s Enterprise Centre (WeBC), where she served from 2014-23, and retired as Board Chair.
In her role as Project Consultant, works directly with project applicants in the 27 First Nations, 28 municipalities and five Regional Districts (Columbia-Shuswap, Thompson-Nicola, Okanagan, Similkameen and part of the Fraser Valley). In this role, she connects with economic development practitioners and business support organizations, responding to funding inquiries, and supporting applicants to access the funding programs that ETSI-BC offers.
